Présentation/résumé de la thèse

This thesis proposes to apply the capability approach to French adolescents, focusing on the impact of their formal education. It uses a highly participative approach to determine which aspirations with regards to formal education are found relevant by the surveyed youngsters. Once these aspirations clearly identified, the same pupils are asked to estimate the contribution of their current formal education to the future achievement of each of these aspirations. The questionnaire that was used for the survey also controls for well-being in school.
